Program Overview
Program Purpose
The New York Peer Advancement Network (NY-PAN) is a partnership between the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) and the National Association of Peer Supporters (N.A.P.S.). This program’s mission is to grow the peer support profession by promoting the inclusion of peer specialists in healthcare and other community systems throughout the State of New York.
NY-PAN participants receive an N.A.P.S. professional membership at no cost.
Who Should Participate
To participate, you must be a peer specialist living or providing services in New York and have either earned or are pursuing one or more of the following credentials in New York:
- Certified Peer Specialist (NY-CPS)
- State Family Peer Advocate Credential (FPA-C)
- Youth Peer Advocate Credential (YPA-C)

Program Benefits
In addition to member-only resources provided by N.A.P.S., NY-PAN participants benefit from mentorship, training, and networking opportunities catered especially to peer support professionals providing services in the State of New York. NY-PAN-specific information can be found on the program hub, available only to participants.
