Senior Leadership

The Executive Director provides leadership, vision, and strategic direction for N.A.P.S. and oversees all operations including programmatic, financial and technical systems. They are responsible for representing the organization on a national, state, city, and local community level. This is a remote position with some travel required.

N.A.P.S (National Association of Peer Supporters) was started in 2004 by a dedicated group of peer specialists in Michigan. We later became the International Association of Peer Supporters, Inc to reflect an increase in international members and a desire to include all peer supporters, not just those with the title “peer specialist” and registered as a 501c3. Our mission is to grow the peer support profession by promoting the inclusion of peer specialists throughout healthcare and other community systems in the United States.

The new Executive Director of N.A.P.S. will be positioned to build upon a wealth of history and solid reputation of national peer support workforce association building, and positive working relationships with affiliate programs, funders, and national stakeholders. As N.A.P.S. transitions to new leadership, the Executive Director will collaborate with the board of directors and staff to further strengthen N.A.P.S. internal infrastructure, cultivate new partnerships, harness emerging funding opportunities, and work to support the following areas: organizational culture, strengthening and expanding partnerships, and fundraising & finance.
