Peer Specialist – OnTrackNY

WJCS is seeking a full-time Peer Specialist to join our OnTrackNY program in Peekskill, NY. OnTrackNY is an innovative, evidence-based treatment program designed to support adolescents and young adults in the early stages of a psychotic disorder. This program is offered in collaboration with a larger NYS research team and focuses on empowering young people on their path to recovery.
The salary range is $45,000-$50,000.
Responsibilities:
As a valued member of our team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Serve as an ally, mentor, and advocate for young people navigating early psychosis.
- Promote community awareness of recovery and work to reduce stigma.
- Participate in outreach and recruitment efforts with the team, build relationships with community providers.
Requirements:
We are seeking candidates who possess the following:
- State certification or Provisional Certification as a Peer Specialist with the understanding that the person will become certified within 1 year of employment.
- 2 years or more of active participation in mental health self-help activities, peer support or peer advocacy programs or similar programs.
- A valid driver’s license.
