Director for Outpatient Services, Onondaga County Department of Children and Family Services

Provisional Appointment

Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact on the lives of young individuals? If you have a genuine love for kids and are dedicated to helping them grow and succeed, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

Join us as the Director for Outpatient Services at the Onondaga County Department of Children and Family Services, where you’ll be an essential part of our Adolescent Day Treatment (ADT) program. Our unique program is designed to cater to the individual academic and mental health needs of up to 24 exceptional youth in grades 8 through 12, in collaboration with their families. As the Director, you will play a pivotal role in providing mental health treatment that empowers these youths to develop new perspectives, manage their emotions, and interact positively, enabling them to stabilize symptoms and achieve success in the classroom.

Working closely with the Syracuse City School District McCarthy Program and the Child Welfare Division of the Department of Children and Family Services, you will have the opportunity to make a difference beyond our ADT program. You will be the liaison with local agencies concerned with children, helping identify those in need of outpatient services and coordinating care and services with external partners.

What sets this role apart is the chance to work in a school setting with exceptional students, ensuring they receive the best possible care and support. As the Director, your responsibilities will encompass exercising direct and clinical supervision over our multi-disciplinary team, providing in-service training to agency personnel, and implementing quality improvement activities to continuously enhance our services.

To succeed in this role, you must be well-versed in current mental health practices and trends, including trauma-informed, developmentally responsive, family-centered, collaborative, and culturally responsive services. Your expertise and passion will make a difference in the lives of the youth we serve.

You’ll be rewarded with a competitive salary and an opportunity to work in a rewarding environment where your efforts truly matter. Come be a part of our team, and let’s create a brighter future together for these exceptional young minds!

Join us in Syracuse, NY, as we strive to make a positive impact on the lives of children and families in our community. Apply today and be a catalyst for change!
