Peer-Led Alternatives Training: Engaging Youth Culture with Peer Advocacy

Topic: Engaging Youth Culture with Peer Advocacy

Description: The peer movement continues to expand and embrace the lived and living experiences of people across all generations, including youth and young adults. Across the nation, many peer advocates are supportive of the youth peer movement and their calls to action while some are curious or hesitant to engage with an unfamiliar culture. By deepening our understanding of youth culture and its relationship with peer advocacy, we can reduce harm and prevent generational divides in our communities and peer movement. Join us in this interactive workshop while we discuss best practices to engage youth and young adults in peer advocacy.

Trainer: Kristin Rivera

The purpose of this training series is to offer an opportunity to members to learn alternative practices, approaches, and ideas, that are rooted in the refreshed mission and vision of the National Association of Peer Supporters. This will be a chance for members to learn more about the direction in which N.A.P.S. is moving, build skills and knowledge, and earn continuing education credits. Each training will last 90 minutes and will incorporate knowledge sharing, participant engagement, and more.
