Peer-Led Alternatives Training: Thriving Beyond Institutions: Peer Support as a Path to Liberation

Topic: Thriving Beyond Institutions: Peer Support as a Path to Liberation

Description: Discover how peer support can transcend institutions and systems to thrive in daily conversations, grassroots movements, and community networks. This workshop explores peer support’s historical roots, its role in collective healing, and its potential to reimagine our future through mutual aid and shared power. Together, we’ll envision a world where peer support becomes a foundation for community-led growth and national transformation. Learn to build strategies that sustain a movement rooted in equity, connection, and liberation.

Trainer: Vanessa Williams

The purpose of this training series is to offer an opportunity to members to learn alternative practices, approaches, and ideas, that are rooted in the refreshed mission and vision of the National Association of Peer Supporters. This will be a chance for members to learn more about the direction in which N.A.P.S. is moving, build skills and knowledge, and earn continuing education credits. Each training will last 90 minutes and will incorporate knowledge sharing, participant engagement, and more.
